Lisbon rewards a car with intent. Between the tiled facades of Chiado, the long sweep of Avenida da Liberdade and the Atlantic light over Belém, the city moves at a measured pace — until the road opens. The BMW M4 Competition answers both registers, composed in traffic and quietly ferocious once the city falls behind.
Handover across Lisbon and beyond
Collection at Lisbon Airport (LIS) is the most common arrangement, with a chauffeur meeting arriving guests inside Terminal 1 and walking them to the vehicle in a dedicated bay. For those staying in the city, we deliver directly to hotel forecourts in PrĂncipe Real, Chiado, Lapa or along Avenida da Liberdade, and to private residences in Estoril and Cascais. Weekend city-break clients typically prefer Friday afternoon delivery and Sunday evening return, timed around dinner reservations.
Roads this car was built for
- An early run west on the A5 to Cascais, arriving in time for breakfast above the Boca do Inferno
- The coastal Marginal back toward Belém, slowing for the Jerónimos and Torre de Belém
- A composed two-hour push north on the A1 to Porto for a midweek meeting
- The A2 crossing of the Vasco da Gama bridge at dusk, the Tagus widening below
- An evening loop through Sintra's serra roads, returning to a hotel valet in Chiado
The car, on these roads
The twin-turbocharged inline-six delivers its 510 hp with a long, deliberate reach that suits Portuguese motorways, where overtaking windows are brief and decisive. Adaptive M suspension absorbs the cobbled approaches to older quarters without losing composure, while the Merino leather cabin and carbon trim keep the interior closer to a private study than a sports car.
Composed through Chiado, unhurried on the open A1.
Practical notes
Comprehensive insurance with reduced excess is included, alongside 24-hour roadside assistance. The M4 takes 98-octane unleaded; the vehicle is delivered fully fuelled and returned the same. A daily kilometre allowance applies, with extensions arranged in advance.
